Mission
WADTPA is a trade association composed of state-certified health care
organizations in Wisconsin that treat substance use disorders.
WADTPA exists to support its member organizations and to create a favorable
business and political climate in which these provider organizations can thrive.
What We Believe
We believe that substance use disorders are primary,
chronic health problems that require specialized treatment.
Such specialty treatment utilizes the skills of uniquely trained
healthcare professionals. We believe that collaboration with general
healthcare providers, mental health providers and social service organizations
is essential in both outreach and comprehensive treatment of substance use disorders.
What We Do:
- Provide a forum for collegial networking regarding the best clinical practices and the best business practices in addiction service delivery.
- Communicate with member organizations about timely clinical, technological and public policy issues relevant to addiction treatment.
- Advocate for a rational regulatory environment that promotes the public interest while supporting our industry.
- Secure recognition of addiction treatment and its value among employers and public policymakers.
- Promote professionalism among addiction practitioners.
- Assure that citizens of Wisconsin have access to effective, evidence-based specialty treatment for alcohol and other drug problems.
